History tells us that all things change! Are we near the end of the day for existing power sources? Possibly!
Our past at E&W Electrical involved educating ourselves on electrical and power generation theory and then using this knowledge to supply our customers with emergency back up power systems to protect against the dangers and inconveniences created by utility power losses.
Our future will be to maintain current systems in place,
provide for future alternative power solutions,
and save our customers money thru energy
and fuel source management.
E&W Electrical, LLC held licenses in four states, North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina, and Maryland up until 2005. In 2005 a decision was made to focus our resources specifically on Virginia and North Carolina. Currently E&W holds a Master electrical license in Virginia as well as an unlimited electrical license in North Carolina. Our recent and current study has been with NC State and their renewable energy diploma series and some study with Appalachian State University and their wind turbine curriculum. Education is an everyday focus at E&W and all technicians spend time with our partner manufacturers in order to stay current with the rapidly changing technologies.
In 1984 the company was formed by Michael S. Williams with a focus on the residential sectors of the electrical industry. Residential wiring of custom homes with electrical lighting design support both in new construction and remodels coupled with several years of experience in manipulation of control system circuitry proved to be a perfect prerequisite for our power systems platform which we committed to in 1995.
We introduced automatic standby generator systems for the residential sectors into North Carolina right about the time of Hurricane Fran. At first the idea of homes having their own power generation plants did not catch on but after the ice storm of 2002 in North Carolina and then Hurricane Isabel which came thru Virginia in 2003, home standby systems became quite popular. Our approach was to always service what we sold, keeping staff which was trained specifically for generators, and keeping a large inventory of parts so that if a unit had a problem, especially during an outage, we had the part on our trucks or warehouse shelves, reducing any down time for our customers. To date we have sold over 3000 systems and currently provide service to them as well as systems installed by other companies.
Our current and future focus is in providing not only standby generator systems but complete energy solutions for our residential and commercial customers. Our philosophy is that renewable energy systems which should include facilities for selection of source, consumption management, and efficiency verification, for the residential sector is on the horizon. We plan to be ready!
Our technicians are dedicated to generator service and many hold several certifications with Generac Power Systems covering any type combustion engine generator set sizing from 4KW to 200KW. Additionally E&W technicians are trained in house so that they understand the theory associated with moving electrons, combustion engines, and the properties of the different fuel sources used by combustion engine generator sets. Combined experience totals across 3 senior technicians, with the Generac product encompasses 30 plus years of their total 55 years of working in the electrical industry.
Customer service is key to a successful service company and our customer service personnel are at the top of their field. Data collection is a must for system analysis, and collection for over 3000 systems, sometimes collected at six month intervals requires efficient organization. Our team has over 15 years experience collecting data and there are improvements made to our systems on a continuing basis. In the near future our customers will be able to access their accounts and see the history of any and all services performed on their system starting when the system was first placed into service. Operational procedures, fault reset procedures, and any potential problems with their system will be accessible thru their website portal.
Part of providing generator service includes 24 hour emergency service, 365 days a year. Our trucks are stocked with over 457 different parts so most always if a part is necessary, it is stocked on our service trucks. Returned calls for emergency service are returned within 20 minutes and most always a truck is headed your way within 30 minutes. Successful generator systems require knowledgeable and well thought out service plans, however even well taken care of systems fail. When they do, we are just a phone call away, everyday.
